DESTINATION PAMEX 2010
Highly Capital intensive with 120,000 or so, printing presses and 200 daily newspapers and thousands of periodicals, journals and language publications, the printing industry has thrown up demands for latest printing technology.
Printing industry has also undergone transfiguration from sheet fed printing, to web printing, from low speed to high speed, B&W to colour printing, and so on. Industry experts indicate that the present level, of book printing exports is low and major percentage is accounted by stationery and converting sector. The publishing sector has already established the “type setting exports”. New technologies are coming into force else where, in the world and in India also digitisation has been introduced in Printing and Publishing. XML Standards are being developed for digitizing newspapers, forms or books. The potential for expansion is immense.
Economic growth in the wake of liberalization & opening up of the economy, enabled more foreign direct investment in the Indian economy. With sustained growth in literacy, the demand for the very best in printing, publishing and packaging has thrown up challenges for the industry. All this, and the growing affluent middle class present INDIA as the market with opportunities.
PAMEX 2010, the seventh edition of India’s internationally acclaimed exhibition of printing and allied machinery, gets ready to host the who’s who of the printing world in January 2010.
With whole hearted participation guaranteed from each of its member associations. PAMEX 2010 is expected to be, in every sense, an event “Of the Printers, For the Printers and By the Printers”.
PAMEX 2010 becomes the destination for the printing world.
INDIA-THE LAND OF PROMISE
It’s a story that has the printing world excited. The country’s printing market, currently valued at US$12.1 billion, is projected to reach US$20.9 billion by the year 2011. At present ranked as the 12th largest print market in the world, it is expected to move up several places to become the 8th largest printing market by 2011.
Consequently, the Ink/s market is estimated to be US$356 million and is projected to grow by 78% and by 2011. The substrates market is pegged at US$4000 million and has a phenomenal growth projection of 72% by 2011 and the market would thus be close to US$7000 million. The other consumables market which today stands at US$155 million is also expected to witness tremendous growth of almost 70% (All figures are gathered from industry sources and are approximate rounded values).
THE MARKETING BUZZ AND THE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
PAMEX 2006 attracted quality footfalls from India and neighbouring countries with over 220 focused exhibitors including ancillary suppliers spread over 12000 sqms and over 25000 visitors gracing the occasion. If the previous edition was an unqualified success we expect PAMEX 2010 to be bigger and better.
In a crowded marketplace, PAMEX 2010 provides organizations the opportunity to break through the clutter and grab the attention of its target segment. It is not just a window to the expanding printing industry in India which is growing in leaps and bounces out also offers a passage to the Asian markets that hold tremendous potential.
